Standing with God

"To find happiness and joy, no matter what comes,
we must make our stand unequivocally with the Lord."

A simple quote, but one that many members struggle with in these latter days. As the world becomes more and more corrupt, it becomes harder to stand with the Lord, because of outside pressures, politics and what the world is deeming "right" and "wrong.

James E. Faust, in the October 2004 General Conference said:

"In our time we are going through an increasingly difficult time of refining and testing. The tests are more subtle because the lines between good and evil are being eroded..." and goes on to say "in this environment we will need to make sure where we stand all of the time in our commitment to eternal truths and covenants."

I really wish members of the church would take time to read and understand this, especially the last part: "Where we stand all of the time in our commitment to eternal truths and covenants."

The world is a dangerous place. They are progressively making their views further and further from those of the church; and many members are allowing their politics to override their commitment to "eternal truths and covenants." Whether that is same-sex marriage, cannabis, sex before marriage,  alcohol, coffee; the list goes on. It is of the utmost importance to stand with our Heavenly Father; and to follow His servants that have been called here on earth.

Cecil O. Samuelson Jr., during the October 2004 General Conference stated:

"How grateful I am, in these perilous times, for the protection and guidance given to us by the sacred assurance that Jesus Christ lives today."

To receive this protection and this guidance, we must stand strong. We must resist the adversary and his temptations. We must be in the world, but not of the world.

"Each of our circumstances is unique. We come literally from the four corners of the earth, and we also come from tremendously different families, backgrounds, challenges, opportunities, experiences, triumphs, and disappointments."(Cecil)

How beautiful is this eternal plan, that no matter who you are, what walk of life you come from, our Heavenly Father will provide that protection to you, if you stand with Him and follow His servants here on earth. It's really as simple as that.

I correspond with some amazing members of my church on Twitter; and we regularly defend the Gospel of Christ, where as others would tear it down. We follow a simple motto, "follow the prophet". We believe that Heavenly Father called President Russell M. Nelson as a prophet; and that He also called the apostles as leaders of His church. They speak for Him and will not lead us astray. One of the members from Twitter, Tanner G, in regards to us defending the Gospel, says:

" is not political, racial, national or sexual... it is simply members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who are unapologetic about our belief in the restored Gospel..."

We don't allow anything to come between us and the Gospel.

As we are in the last days; and as the world gets more and more perilous to followers of Christ, it has never been more important to stand with God and His servants.

Will you make your stand?

Ephesians 6:11 - "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."

1 Corinthians 15:58 - "...Be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord..."
